Thats Entertainment, Fall 2010

The world today captures a few interesting headlines. Obama's disaster mid-term elections, a poor visit to the G20 in South Korea, doubts over his ability to lead the US out of the crisis, the rise of tea party, Palin's reality show, Sarko changes his cabinet well maybe not really, Rutte embarks in Holland in a very challenging and sadly entertaining setting, are we experiencing Berlusconis final days, Belgium....nada. China under pressure, Germany pressing. Also at Ajax Amsterdam, the once top soccer club (my team) is another crisis going on.

These are just a few major and minor news messages during October - November of 2010. Trust, credibility seems to be at stake across the globe which inevitably leads to instability and insecurity. Lack of leadership might be a cause and in that context its probably lack of leadership in tandem with how to deal with an omnipresent 24/7:7 media.

The scope and agenda of world leaders is broader than ever before, the world has never been so connected and indeed very few leaders, and their support staff seem capable in dealing with such a complex political, business and sportive environment. Perhaps this is linked to setting priorities? Priorities enables leaders to focus on the real issues, maybe thats missing nowadays? I think thats a major part of todays "news" climate and thats entertainment!
