Corona Confinement Jour 9

What has changed in my daily life sofar: living and working from the Luberon is still a very pleasant experience. We are very fortunate. When I unlock the shutters, a bright sun is waiting for me which is such a nice way to start the day. The warm welcome by Bella, coffee and light breakfast remains the same as usual.
·       Increased reading of news, what’s going on as almost everything is in standstill and the evolution of the virus in France and the Netherlands, the health care situation, the choices politicians make and lots more. There is very good material available. New York Times, BBC, Nu.nl, Volkskrant, Telegraaf en NRC.
·       More checking on social media, Twitter is very good as is LinkedIn nowadays I do check twice a day Facebook. It’s good to see how friends from around the world are coping with this
·       Increased interactions with people, through What’s App, in particular within our Family but also groups with friends, colleagues or some special interest groups
·       More interactions with my colleagues and global teams, mostly via video calls and What’s App. Also continue to write articles on strategy and growth
·       Helped a master student of HEC on his thesis with the topic “Selling Innovations”, of course this was a virtual session. Worked well, student seemed happy, like to read his final work, hope he will graduate and for sure will land a promising job.
·       Entertainment: music as always non-stop what’s changing a more different genre’s such as country, classical and various mood streams.  Developed on spotify our own ONE19 playlist, and its pretty pretty good. Television, we follow BFM live tv a few times per day, the 8 O’clock news in the Netherlands, the final week of DWDD after 15 years with presenter Mathijs van Nieuwkerk who is a class on its own and there is Amazon Prime and Netflix. Just finished McMafia
·       Despite the severe lockdown restrictions in France I walk at least twice a day Bella and a daily run. The run must be within a 1KM perimeter, not more then 1 hour and one needs to carry some kind of affidavit to justify being outside, sofar haven’t seen the gendarme hence I am pushing my luck perhaps
·       Trying to eat as healthy as possible and limit the wine consumption, not easy during times like this and when surrounded by beautiful hilly vineyards!
·       Started a Nokia course on 5G and I like it, I have now a bit more time for this and enjoying it, the digital revolution is in full swing, Industry 4.0 is around the corner and will for play for sure a future role in anticipating and dealing with e.g. epi-and pandemics through geo-localization

In times like these I also take more time to think about “the essentials” and how we might come out of this crisis. More about that in a later stage
