Dear Friends,
Comes a Time is a song Neil Young wrote in 1978 about how people move on and change but still stay true to their friends. It’s about life and how fast it goes by which perfectly sums it up for me!
At the end of September, I will be leaving Nokia. I
don’t look at it as an early retirement – more as a conscious effort to slow
down after many years of corporate life. I am lucky to say I have had a more
than exciting and stimulating career with great companies such as Sopexa/FWFF,
Shell, Rothschild Inc Americas, Bertelsmann Music Group, Market Bridge, and the
last 15 years at Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent).
Next stop: more time with family, friends
and giving back! I have gotten involved in leading Board Companions in the
Netherlands, a pro-bono INSEAD Alumni initiative to attract executives as
volunteer directors in not-for-profit-organizations with a focus on purpose and
performance. Additionally, I will continue lecturing at HEC Business School
Paris and help executives and their teams through growth strategy development
and coaching.
It has been a privilege discovering and operating in different industries and cultures and most of all working with great people. It has been invaluable, and I would like to thank you in making my journey a terrific ride and… career wise I recommend “disrupt before you will be disrupted”!
Stay healthy, keep winning and seize the day!
All my best, Cor
