Last Sunday back from a 10K run, my first real run since Amsterdam’s half lin 2021 and I had the idea to get Margot interested in running, after all why not.
So Jorrit arranged the call, Margot’s first reaction when I said hello: I don’t see you Opa, of course a conversation over a smart phone is with video how could I forget.
Margot do you like running I asked, “running no that’s not fun” silly Opa and a ton of noises, messing with her hair and funny faces, I said bring your trainers (English for running shoes) than we are running together and see who is the slowest. Everything started to change, loud sounds, even more funny faces and Margo, “running is when the big monsters are chasing you” how could I forget this. What did I learn: phone calls don’t exists, we need to see each other, running is about big monsters, 5-year old’s are all over the place in general and around 5:30PM in particular. ! In the end she promised to bring the trainers!
